Okay yall, I'm in need of help concerning my brugs. I posted in another thread days ago but not much help. I PM'd Karma but I guess she's out of pocket at this time. Sooo, can anyone help me on this? I have two different potted brugs, (angel trumpets) next to one another. The smaller pot has one brug planted, was doing fine until new leaves as well as old ones began to shrivel and harden. If I touch the leaf, it generally falls off. The pot next to it has three different colored angel trumpets, now doing the same thing. I've posted some pics I took today. Can anyone help out? I'll show the leaves close up.
If you take notice, the viens on underside of the affected or should I say infected leaves are discolored. What should I do? I had sprayed soap and water mixture for four consecutive days but has done no good. What is happening to my brugs? What have they contracted? Stephanie

Sorry Stephanie I thought Karma was on it. The leaves look like they have been damaged by aphids. In the third picture there is a group of little white flecks on the leaf to the left. Are they aphids? You did say you had not found any sign of pests. It might be worth getting hold of some Neem oil if the soap and water is not having any affect. It is organic.

Hi Moira, well, did a little more research. I do not use any insectiside in my garden. So, guess what, I located a place locally that sells live ladybugs. That's what I'm doing, will release them tonight. Will keep you posted. P. S. Most of the leaves are gone on the two brugs. After closer examination this am, I can see white all along the stems. Sprayed again with soap and water but will rely on my ladybugs! Stephanie

Wonderful! I don't use chemicals either not even Neem as I have a very healthy population of ladybirds (bugs) hoverflies and other predatory insects. I am never sure what is a native predator to you in America so didn't mention them. Do make sure you can identify the larvae as they look very different from the adults. They should quickly clear up any pest on your Brugs (I think you have whitefly) as they eat up to 500 pests a day! Here is a link to other predators just for info. It also shows ladybug larvae. http://140.254.84.203/wiki/index.php/Beneficial_insects Nice to meet a fellow organic gardener.
