I bought a Phalaenopsis Orchid some time ago and my cat knocked it down and broke the flower spikes off, midbloom. Despite this dissapointment it has come out of it and is getting ready to bloom again. It has a unique color if I remember right. I will post the stages of this orchid's blooming as it progresses. Here are some current pictures.

If you cut the finished flower spike of above a joint then they produce a new one from there. I buy mine cheap from a DIY store where they cost a fortune in good condition but there are lots of neglected ones really cheap.I get these and just cut of the old flowers and of they go again. Got to watch the pennies!!

Thank you for the advice. That is what I did with the spikes that my cat broke. They are barely visible but you can kinda see the spikes coming from the stems that were cut off. Here is my orchid opening up.
