Hi- today Anne ( Poochella ) drove up to Ferndale Wash from east of Seattle to look at Cory's ( from the dahlia forum) dahlias. I live about 10 minutes from Cory so I met them in one of the dahlia patches. Anne foolishly thought she could look at Corys dahlias in an hour, LOL. Boy was she in for a surprise. You saw I said one of Cory's dahlia patches. Here is part of one of her patches looking one way.
Here is looking the other way and that is Walt Cory's husband.
Here is what their dahlia stocks look like.
Here is a biggie peeking out. It must be 14 inches or more.
Not only do they grow dahlias but they have very tall sunflowers that have reseed in their dahlia patch.
Here are the people pictures Cory, Anne, Walt

Linda (me) Cory and Anne
It was a great morning. So glad to meet Anne. Anne will be posting pictures when she gets time.

Hi folks, I thank Linda for posting some photos. It was more of a 'dahlia immersion' not only at Wynne's spot of Heaven on Earth, but then on to two more dahlia fields/patches/plots/let's-plant-more-dahlias-here gardens of a fellow Whatcom County grower. I was so overdone on dahlias with blooms and forms and colors swimming in my brain long into the night. It was a wonderful day! I didn't take nearly enough notes, but I did take photos and will post those in the coming days. So many dahlias, so little time..... I very much enjoyed the tour of Whatcom County, and meeting Linda but also the congenial hospitality and unending generosity of the Wynnes. The little known secret is that they actually give up spots of that wonderful soil to grow divine vegetables which have provided supper for two days running. As delicious as their flowers are beautiful!
Not only was it great to meet Cory, Walt, and Linda, but to see their beautiful soil for growing things of all sorts, and NOT ONE ROCK, as we have here, instead of soil! Thanks to you both, and I hope we meet again soon. I will steal some soil next time LOL! Al, I'll have to meet you sometime- hopefully NOT while doing community service LOL. More like on a casual trip through Wisconsin. I have connections in Milwaukee and soon in Door County, so your locale is not that far out of the way. Photos will follow on the dahlia board, when I get a chance. Annie

Wow, Annie- the veggie picture is a work of art! I just eat 'em I don't arrange 'em but maybe I should start. Walt threatened to pick more bean today & I think I'm going to have to tie him up in the basement so he stops!! Glad you enjoyed your day- we did, too! Cory

My husband was most impressed that Walt had Midwest roots and gave the Wynne corn a nod of approval. I just nod YAY to everything I saw or met- flower or vegetable or people. Here are some more people-pictures and a reveal of a little known secret about Dahlianut Linda..... the suspense mounts! Even Linda must wonder what it is LOL! Starting with the Wynne's- more gracious hosts you could never hope to meet.
Walt was a little shy and preferred to hide behind this gigantic pink bloom of their own creation.
There's no hiding behind the likes of Wyn's EEEK, but Cory and LInda tried. It is the craziest dahlia I've ever seen. Big, curly, lanky non-comformist in a hot pink.
Here'e the jovial duo in just one row of one magnificent patch of dahlias. Bet you're all curious about Dahlianut now.....
Here we are, out prowling along acres of fields, gardens galore, grass patches and farm roads and here is Linda in her fancy schmancy red suede shoes LOL! Dahlianut is not only an excellent dahlia grower, but a fashion hound! And that's a secret little GardenBuddy trivia for you ;) I had a wonderful time up there. More Photos will go on the dahlia site where Cory will have to help with ID's as I took no notes.

I loved those red shoes and you looked just fine 'unkinked' and all! Plus, who's going to be looking at hair when you're surrounded by beautiful dahlias, trees, and towering sunflowers or corn? Not I. Will be working on the photos a bit later.
