Ej sent me an email from his cell phone saying he is away for a bit but he saw yesterday the albums crashed the Mysql and so he disabled them until he gets back.

I would imagine it will be time to end all "hot-linking" to photos in any of the albums. I currently do not do any hot linking, I simply give folks the link to my overall albums so they can come visit. This all is so much work for Ej.... I really think we should all be willing to give up the things that are causing the crashes. Having the albums is great and folks can enjoy them as well as use the educational items in them just fine with a general link and some direction as to which album things are in. Just my two cents worth.

It is clear now that with so many albums and the "new" album style hitting the database each time that this is causing the problems. We have not gone down once since I disabled the albums. If anyone is interested we can go back to the old style album where we didn't use a database and give this a try. No promises that it will work.

I would not mind going back to the old albums style, if it is not too much work to do so. Otherwise, I have set up an account at www.flickr.com for some photos. I will keep an eye open for which way things go here. Thanks Ej.

EJ, I no longer need my album (I moved to a different host site) but I would offer the older version album to interested contributing members.
I always contributed because I knew of your situation. Others may have contributed just for the album usage.

Old version is fine by me. The new one had its nice features, but I was satisfied with the other was well. I would at least like the opportunity to recreate my albums elsewhere should the need arise to do away with them altogether. I have most of the pics on my home computer, but it would give me a reference on which pics I thought worthy of being in my online albums.

I would appreciate any album format at this time. I really don't want to start again from scratch with another website. I just hope that I won't have to reestablish all of my photoalbums here, if you change the format.

If it would't be too much work, I'd appreciate going back to the old albums. In some ways, I liked them better, anyway, though the little "random" image slide show on the new albums did give me quite a few smiles.

No pressure, Ej; I'm sure we can all find another place to post pics, but I'd use the old album again if it was available.
