Joe, I am one of the buddies who uses an Apple. I asked you in your last thread if you were the one who resized a photo of your dog for your profile photo. (Do you know where the resizer can be found?) Uploading that photo is as easy as using the cursor on your computer to click on the photo that you resized there for your profile photo and move it to your desktop. From there you can go to your profile information and upload it to your profile photo. For posting any photo here at gardenbuddies, you can do the same thing. Resize any photo you want to post, using the resizer here (it's a marvelous tool Ej has provided), and then just literally click on it, and move it to the desktop of your computer. Where you write your comments, at the bottom of the page, where it says Post: there is a paperclip icon. Use that to upload your photo from your desktop to add to your comment, or just to post your photo. There are so many ways to resize your photos, and using PhotoShop is great, and you can do all kinds of things to your photo. But to start, perhaps you would prefer to try this really easy way. I have not used a PC for years but have been a dedicated Mac user for many years. Give it a try. If you have trouble, just speak up. There are quite a few of us Mac users here.

Resizing and cropping are two different things. We need to resize for the net. I don't think Mac or Windows does make real difference.
The first button on the left is for resizing the picture here on Gardenbuddies but the original can not be bigger than 1MB. After resizing you have to save the picture on your hard disk (like desktop). The sixth button from the left (paper clip) is to download the resized picture from your hard disk to your post. iPhoto will not resize the pictures for you for the net. You may also try one of many other resizers on the net, http://email.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=email&cdn=compute&tm=34&f=00&su=p284.8.150.ip_&tt=13&bt=1&bts=1&zu=http%3A//resizr.lord-lance.com/
Good luck!

Actually you could use iPhoto to resize. If you select a picture for e-mail (using medium size) it will resize it and place it in an e-mail window. From there you can simply drag it to your desktop, then upload it onto GardenBuddies using the paperclip icon. That's how I did this one:
The problem with these various resizing techniques is that they don't do the extra sharpening that needs to be performed when you reduce the size of a photo. Still, they're better than nothing!

Malgorzata: here's a useful trick for when you have those super long urls that stretch the page. Use the icon for linking photos - that's the one to the right of the gold star. Insert the URL as you would for a picture. Then edit out the "image" part of "imagelink" at the beginning. Place a comma at the end, before the curly bracket, and write the name you want to appear. The line would look like this, except I put in a forward slash at the beginning in place of the backslash so you can see it. /link{http://email.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=email&cdn=compute &tm=34&f=00&su=p284.8.150.ip_&tt=13&bt=1&bts=1&zu=http%3A//resizr.lord-lanc e.com/,Look here} The result would be this Look here No more stretched page!

No more stretched page! Mara, I apologize. I did not realize since my page is not stretched. You taught me the trick before but it seems there is no way I can memorize it for too long time.

In iphoto you can resize by using the export-function in one of the menues. I am at work right now (PC). But I will write down in details when I get home to my darling iMac
