This probably won't be a popular idea, but .... Judging by the amount of time it takes to download them, the HTML e-mails we receive for forums that we subscribe to must use some pretty hefty bandwidth. Would it help if we all went back to just ASCII e-mails? Half the time the pictures are red x's for me anyway. And the plain e-mails always have a link back to the topic if it looks like you're missing any pictures. I just want to know when a favorite topic comes to life after it's been silent for a while, as I may not have time to check whole panoply of forums for "new" buttons every time I visit the site. Our local newspaper sends out notices that don't even include the actual messages, just a notice that a new message has been posted, and a link to that thread. I see that the spelling checker is working again. Good.

I turned off HTML in email. Most forums don't even offer this options. Lets give it a try. Thanks

That's true. I do use the emails to keep up with posts but most often, I click the link to the forum and read there. So just a notice would work. But I could get use to using whatever options work for you EJ.
