A lot of Alpine plants have been posted in various places we need a seperate forum for them.

I'd love to learn more so a separate forum might be good. Of course you guys can't hook me on any more plants, I can't afford it!!

I emailed Cycnich for a topic description. When I hear back I will create one.

Thanks Ej! Alpines might even grow to be one of our most interesting forums. Maybe you can throw out some never-used forums at the same time - like "Penstemons" (just a thought).

If there is no interest in maintaining the penstemons forum, it could be folded back into Perennials in the Garden. I'm a penstemon fan, but don't see the level of interest required to maintain a forum. Anne

I have done a description for EJ and while I was at Wisley I took some pics of the Alpine dept so as I suggested this forum I thought I had better do the first post.

From the Himalayas to the Rockies, from the Andes to the Alps. Alpine plants grow on the top of the world and include a huge range of plant families and they grow in some of the most beautiful and wildest places on earth. In a rock garden, trough or alpine house, some easy to cultivate, some very difficult.Their beauty is astounding.

I don't see where you can add a thread to the alpine forum Ej. Not that I have one to add, I'm just waiting for Pat to add his Wisley post.

This has been discussed for years, and I honestly think there is no other really good, photocentric alpine forum out there (that I know of, and I look hard!). I'm all for it. This could become a magnet for alpine lovers around the world if there are enough pictures and wisdom. I can't supply the latter, but I can the former.
