That's great and I'm happy to hear that.
RIP. What a lovely tray, Jayne, and sweet memento of Bette.

Thanks for the nice comments... Am I playing alone... didn't Monique ask that last week? ;-) Carol, you liked the pink and green... I know you are a fan of blue! A swan tonight, no dolphin for Jain. (jain, i forgot to answer you before...it's Murano. But today's stuff is not so nice. Most of mine are 40-70 years old.)

yes. Blue! that is gorgeous! I love Murano glass. You're not playing alone, I will take a pic in daylight and post tomorrow, I have my mother's Murano glass mirror (blues and pinks!) from their trip to Italy, about 35 years ago! It's in my kitchen. She bought it for my bedroom back then, when I got married I left it, what did I know then? but came home and grabbed it back :) I love the Swans. 300. We can keep playing for a lot longer :) Show more...

Was it that funny when I said it? I must be a morning person..I have tears I think your line is so funny.. Murano..I had heard of it..Now I know.. Your old pieces are priceless.. Just beautiful..~ I bet you take care of them so well:)
There she goes.. and then of course..
La pièce de résistance! Hmm.. here is another set I favor..Again..my mom's.. I hardly use it because it's on a shelf on the base of the second floor..look up:) A square platter w/ 6 round matching plates..I assume for sandwiches ..little cakes etc...

Monique, so pretty! I love how you have so many lovely things that belonged to your Mom. I only have the cake plate...my Mom had practical, not so many pretties.
Yes, very funny!
Monique, sad to say, I've had them packed away for over 4 years, since we moved 2 houses ago. Last month, DH said it's time to unpack...we unpacked, and now it's all in a spare room (with the door closed to keep Kit out). Now I need to wash it and put it out in display cabinets. A very big job! Looking forward to seeing Carol's and Jain's Venetian glass. Dig it out, Jain.

Venetian glass is all in my memory, from a trip with my brother several years back. I bought a glass turtle for DD. ;) Yesterday's acquisitions were in the line of Jain's "cheap dishes". My everyday plates are from Ikea, years ago. They are cracked and ugly. So I picked up six large (the LAST six) and six small plates like this:
They go in the dishwasher and microwave. I really wanted the six bowls as well, but they had flaws- black specks on them. And today, the amaryllis that was given us 5 years ago by our (former) investment guy decided to bloom:

I love those! Especially the tray, very pretty set. You mom had very exquisite taste. Lovely things!
but worth it to see all those pretty things on display :)rie, I love your new white dishes! Very pretty, I think I've seen them in the stores here before, too. Yes, I know of the flecks sometimes. Will they get more in? Maybe you can order online? Do you want us to look for the bowls?etty bloom, especially amid all your snow :) Here is my Murano glass mirror! Reminds of such fun times. I can just picture it hanging in my room when I was little, first on a pink wall that I insisted had to be repainted blue :) and now in my kitchen, brings a smile to my face when i think of it hanging in my very girly bedroom and I wanted a tomboy bedroom :) Now I appreciate, LOL, but I drove my mom CRAZY :)

Oh what pretty pieces you all have! Special when they are passed down, such a nice memory. I can't find my camera, so I can't post my pic of the dishes my friend left here today for my bday. I hope it is in the car! I had it when I was leaving for the doc, I was going to take some pics of the ocean for you, and now I can't find it!! Beau Murano glass, and mirror.. Lovely white plates, Bug.. Jain, those are perfect for the 17th. You had a very fancy family for sure!!

Jayne, that is one beautiful plate! Monique, that is a really pretty cake plate that you inherited from your mother. Very nice trim color, almost a mauve. Bug, love the plain white with the fruit on the rims. So classic....which I am not! Beautiful amaryllis, too. Carol, beautiful mirror, so feminine looking. That is a really nice shade of blue. Jain, those trifle goblets and compote are absolutely stunning.....my favorite color! I got my package this afternoon........via Jayne; she found some of my orange rooster dishes and was kind enough to pick them up and ship them to me. They were in perfect shape, not a broken one....she sure knows how to wrap to ship. She picked up 2 dinner plates, 3 dessert plates, 6 square luncheon plates and a small pail. She also added a couple bonus items; a package of sunflower napkins and the cutest little orange and yellow bowls that match the plates perfectly. Thank you so very much, Jayne, for taking the time to get the dishes, take the time to wrap them and ship them to me.....you are the BEST! I just noticed that I didn't take a picture of the large plate showing the rooster! It looks just like the one on the pail.

yes, LOL, that's why I had that love-hate relationship with it for so many years :) I really did not want a girly room when I was ten :) Things change :) WOW, Jayne did great for you, Marigene! You have a nice collection :) I love the little bowls, matches perfectly! Jayne is the best, you said it :) Really nice! Enjoy it all, Marigene, it's a beautiful set!

Really, really nice and good to hear that you now like it! Jain, stunning is the word for yours too...wow! And personalized! Classy! Marie, your whites are lovely. And the bloom! So cheerful!

kathleen glad you found your camera! marigene what a super package! jayne is truly the best, she is so sweet to get us all our hearts desires! anyone who has sent dishes knows how much time it takes to wrap them and then you worry every minute until they say it was a success, NONE BROKEN! or in my case failure... the extra goodies just make it all the sweeter! great score marigene and jayne!
