I showed Kathleen a couple of cakes I did some years ago and she suggested I post them here. One was done for my daughters birthday (my girls are grown, one is 35 and the other is about to turn 38) and for the life of me I can't remember why I did the other one, but here they are.

No...but some years ago I did decorate cakes for pay. I worked out of my home but when I figured I was pretty much working for about fifty cents an hour I decided to stop and get a real job that paid "dollars" instead of pennies. I kept all my pans, tips and bags, but haven't decorated a cake in years. Might do one this weekend for a family party, will be sure to take pics if I do.

The "white" doll cake is actually light pink, it is just a bad pic. These pictures were taken back in the early 80's. Thank you all for you nice comments. Here are two more of my creations.
This one is NOT a cake, but rather decorated pans. A friend and I did a bridal show one year and we used styrofoam and cake pans instead of cake for some of the displays. The cake was not crooked, it was just a bad photographer...me!

Catie, those are just beautiful! What kind of icing did you use?? I am not fond of fondant, so I go with whipped cream or cream cheese. I love your creations.

Kathleen it is a decorators buttercream. There is also a "moch" (or is it Mock?) whip cream that I have used, but it wasn't used on those cakes. I decided I am going to give it a try this weekend and see if I can still do it. I am having a family dinner and am going to make an angel food cake. Since Easter is past, I am calling this weekend's dinner "Spring Dinner" and have a flower theme going so I will do some flowers on the angel food cake. If it turns out good, I'll take some pics.

Haven't found one yet, Kathleen, LOL! but don't laugh I did have a friend who traveled the island for business and would "deliver" whatever looked good in his travels. Mostly a box of pastries, but once in a blue moon he stops at Briermere Farms for the pies. That was good delivery!

Hubby tells me last night he doesn't LIKE angel food cake (RATS!) so I will see what I can scrape up today in the way of a chocolate cake. But regardless of the flavor, it WILL have something on it...

What beautiful, adorable cakes....so professional looking! My daughter, whose now 30, was never into princesses or Barbie. But her daughter is all about princesses....At almost 3 that's all she thinks of...I'm not sure it's just the difference in their personalities or Disney is doing a bang-up job marketing all that stuff. Thanks for the ideas.... lovely cakes.
