si! ca climate is very much like italy~

I am going to save my $$ and skip Italy and go to Jain's gardens instead

I don't have a lot of time to be online these days but I keep checking to see if there is more "in the garden today". Gives me hope that spring is almost here...the first buds are barely breaking ground for me. I so enjoy all that you share and love to come and see the day's photos. Thank you Jain~!

Jain because I have dial-up you've deleted many of your photos before I get a chance to look at them on my work computer but I've enjoyed every photo I've gotten to see. While I enjoy the iris close-ups, it's the vistas that I enjoy the most. What a gorgeous setting and you've created an amazing garden. I've noticed this background flower in several of your photos, I'm curious to know what it is please? Thanks for taking the time to post your photos, I know how long it takes to re-size etc.

background flower

that is pride of madeira, i LOVE it, huge big tall blooms smothered with butterflies. the shrub is VERY large, gets about 8'. i can just take a branch and stick in the ground in fall and it will root over winter IF it rains. it also self sows... i want to line my 400' road with them, but the winters rain were to spotty for many to take...

thanks again everyone, its nice you keep visiting with me in the garden~

Jain you live in paradise! I gave up on growing bearded iris as I have so many snails but looking at yours is the next best thing.
I am ill at the moment (no big deal just a bad cold) so this is the nearest I have got to a garden in the last few days. I am tempted to take up my bed and walk over. I promise I won't get in the way, just lay down somewhere on that path so I can admire the view.....

It's been fun watching the border of iris open up on your stairs, Jain. I adore how iris look against a white picket fence

Jain, It's all so very, very beautiful. I KNOW what those hills looked like before you and S. set your incredible talent, hard work and creativity to work. Unbelievable and magnificent, you've made it look like it has been there for generations. So many interesting vistas and different perspectives to enjoy--- what an unbelievable job you've done.

I love your blooming arched table for two! Just saw it again at the nursery the other day... I'm putting it on my wish list. You've planted it in such a gorgeous way.

Your PUP just tickles me to pieces, how he enjoys his gleeful SLIDE down the hill. What a little hot-dogger clown! How could a day not begin well after watching THAT each morning?!

Oh dear. I must find that first Iris in the last set (April 7th), the striking contrast of the dark blue and pure white one. Can you identify it for me. Please?
WOW! I couldn't choose a favorite, but THAT one is right up there at the top of the list.

I'm planting wisteria this year... do you know the name/identity of the wax-like white one? GORGEOUS! And your Black Locust tree takes my breath away.

BRAVO and ENCORE!! I love coming here and enjoying your photos so much. You're so generous to share. Thank you so much.

no thats why i have them!

blues are my very fav... i could never have too many! and i do mean NEVER!

mary glad you like the table. it should have cushions and pillow for extra cute and comfort, but i like the invisible natural look. i did put plexiglass on top so we could eat~ here is the wisteria info.

do you mean 3 sets of pics ago, number one? that is pennant fever.

thanks again everyone for visiting the garden, todays visit was cut short with wild dogs, i had to put the camera away early and chase the dingoes out of the flowers. i watched too many topple in their exuberance... more pics manana~

Your posts are perfect..Today all coordinated..
You have been an inspiration to Mary~

And many:)

I am so anxious to see my Irises..they are under the most snow..because that's where the snowblower blows..

Last night I looked at some of mine in my album..to reassure myself that it's not all a figment of my imagination..this sometimes pretty little patch we have.
You're totally inspiring ..I am going out to prune some more roses that just peeked out of the snow..Yesterday..in my black Billy boots..I sunk in and snow fell in..Ugh..

Wet feet in cold snow in rubber boots..

I'll be more cautious today and walk where I don't sink..in..

Thanks for the gentle shove..

Jain, my computer time has been very limited the last week or so, but I do stop in to see this thread every day....it's remarkable to see what you've accomplished.

I'm very biased toward all the iris pictures but the second picture from the end would be a PERFECT postcard from your area.... you're one of CA's best ambassadors for tourism.

She sure is!

I love everything you've shared, Jain, what a glimpse into your paradise! Just beautiful. and I'm learning a bit from all this and I even noticed my lilacs have buds. LOL, I know what a lilac is, an azalea, and a rhododendron because they are in my yard! and now I know the lilies a little bit more :) Slowly, I'm learning!
