Monique, around here a punch made from sherbet and ginger ale is always popular....Sometimes pineapple juice is added and sometime Sprite is used.. Here are a couple of recipes, if interested.

Yes, we do the white grape, pineapple, orange juice, 7 up or ginger ale deal here too. With the sherbet, float lemon slices, etc...

same here, with the sherbert!

Didn't someone put flowers on ice here one time? I can't remember where I saw it but I bet that would look pretty floating in the punch bowl.

Mmmm... one we made at Kim's shower:

CRANBERRY PUNCH

Serves 24

1 gallon cranberry juice ~ 1 quart raspberry sherbet
1/2 gallon orange juice ~ 1 quart orange sherbet
1 C cranberry liqueur (optional) ~ Orange slices for garnish
1 large bottle ginger ale

Mix cranberry and orange juices in large bowl. Just before serving add the liqueur and/or ginger ale and scoops of sherbet. Garnish with orange slices with cranberries floating on top or with fresh sprigs of mint .

Make a decorative ice ring, if you like. The sherbet foams up, it’s pretty.

I made an ice ring with baby roses and mint leaves, etc. Very pretty, feminine. Yummy.

I'm barely able to keep up with my GB reading these days but wanted to take a moment to post the recipe we use the most in my family for you Monique. I could drink this stuff by the gallon. When I was younger and my best friend got married we made jugs and jugs of the base of it for her wedding...good memories. It comes from a cookbook called Louisiana Lagniappe and is called Yule Punch but I call it the Best Punch Ever!

Yule Punch

1 reg size pkg cherry jello
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 qts boiling water
1 qt pineapple juice
1 small can frozen lemonade concentrate
1 small can frozen orange juice concentrate
1 qt. gingerale
1/2 gallon pineapple sherbet

Mix jello in boiling water along with sugar. Add the juices and mix together. Store in refrigerator until ready to serve. Transfer to punch bowl. Add gingerale and sherbet. Serves 25

Monique, if you would consider lemonade, this is great.

Aunt Frances Lemonade
=====================
This is far and away the BEST lemonade I have ever had-it comes from Taste of Home and everyone that has had it, loves it:
Aunt Frances'Lemonade
5 lemons
5 limes
5 oranges
3 quarts water
1 1/2-2c sugar
Squeeze the juice from 4 of each fruits; pour into a 1 gallon container. Thinly slice remaining fruits and set aside for garnish. Add water and sugar to juice mixing well.
Store in refrig and serve over ice with fruit slices.
Yield:1 gallon (12-16 servings)

Thanks everyone..I had read about the one w/ sherbet etc..

They sounded interesting!
I'll save this thread because we all have punch bowls:)
Ideally I would have loved to find a dispenser..I think like a few of you have.. But I was not able to come across one.

I was just telling Jain last night I would have like a pale punch.. and then lemonade came into play..w/ freezing a bottle of spirits in ice w/ flowers..I remembered a beautiful party Jain made w/ a bottle in the ice..I've tried the bowls..the lanterns.. this would be different and ppretty for M.
I still have my thinking cap :)

It's fun to have tried and trues thanks! I'll let you know which one I pick..
I must have looked at 30 last night!
Ro.. the ice ring sounds so beautiful:)

I'll try the lemonade of Auntie Frances regardless of the choice..:)
It's so interesting to see how many of you like the addition of a creamy ing.I wasn't sure..Now I am:)
