Jeanne, what is your blue clematis in the third photo? All your combinations are so beautiful! BTW, just out of interest, if you had to choose between (awful thought I know) clematis and roses, what would it be?

Yummy. I love when you pair things with peach. I never think of adding peach flowering plants.

I'd like to know what the blue one in the third photo is too, it's nice looking! What an awful choice to have to make Jane LOL, but, I must admit, for me it would be clematis all the way!!! There's just a magic about them that I wouldn't want to be without.

Great pics! Your Cl. florida is 'Plena' the reason for it can't be "Alba" is Cl. florida is white by description (and we do not talk about a white white)

Peer...what would I do without you hon...LOL...I had no idea that 'Florida' meant white...so I will correctly call it "Plena but on COTW they list it as "Alba Plena"..just so confusing..LMBO http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=16
Thanks Tanya..it's from years of hanging out with you guys that my passion became an Obsession!!...Jeanne

Actually Jeanne, to sound a bit nerdy; "florida" simply means "flowers" or "full of flowers". "Alba" is actually the word that refers to the color white. Plena refers to fullness (plentiful), I would assume either in the shape of the flower itself, or in the number of blooms. So, the blunt translation of "Florida Alba Plena" would be something like "Full White Flower"... pretty accurate, no? LOL. Ok, done with the language lesson for now LOL.

I think what Peer means, is that when florida is by nature always white, it is not necessary to say white in the name too.
