My Calgary daughter is coming home next week, and I've asked her to bring me a Betty Corning, and if not this one, my 2nd choice is Prince Charles. I've never seen either of these locally. Can't wait to see what she brings me.

Joan, why not be just a bit greedy and have asked for BOTH! ... for years I had resisted purchasing "Prince Charles" ... now, I'm glad I had finally given into this bloom machine!

They are both good, but Betty Corning is in a class of her own. You may even be lucky enough to be able to get her scent, which sadly I can't.

Ok, I'm blaming it on you guys. LOL Hopefully the Calgary nurseries have their clematis available. Ours don't yet.

Joan, do they have 'Prince Charles'? It's one of the best so if you can get that one, it would be brilliant. 'Betty Corning' is available here but so far I haven't found the right spot for it in my garden. 'Prince Charles' is easier to place.

Well I didn't get BC, but she did bring home a Prince Charles, and it is huge. Nice thick stems that were about 4' tall. The top part got bent, so I cut those off and will try to root them.
