Cl. "Myojo - Melbourne Cup"
Wonder how many of you got this form of 'Myôjô' I find this cup shaped flower very attractive and judging the leaves I do think it may have some extra chromosomes, leaf is larger, rounder, thicker and bluish green unlike on our other 'Myôjô's and as you can see the flower bud is much rounder.
The reason for calling it "Myojo - Melbourne Cup" is it's cup shaped flowers when it first open and I found it in connection with "The Melbourne Cup" race (held on first Tuesday in November).

To Mal: Can you help with the real meaning of 'Myôjô', I have seen a couple of translations, but as far as I'm told its "The Morning Star" (which is Venus)

Hi Peer! DH confirms "Morning Star".

Based on Jim Breen's dictionary:

The 'Melbourne Cup' form is far more attractive in every way - leaf, bud and flower. Wish I had one.

I really like the cup shape, and the leaves are very attractive too.
Melbourne Cup day means a lot to me being an Aussie/Canadian.

I'm impressed with the photos as well as the flower forms...great clicking, Peer. I like the unique, and MC is definitely that! I wonder if this clem would have the almost tropical size leaves in a much cooler climate? That Myojo with butterfly is a charmer.

the leaves are smaller during the heath of summer, flowers and leaves are always larger during our cool spring and fall (they are feed well) by the way I forgot to mention they are scented!
