I am waiting for a call from DH to come pick him up from the hospital (YAY!!!) so I thought I'd share some of this season's clematis with you to help the time pass quickly.. It's been a very good clematis season even if a bit odd. There's been a few no-shows...Avant-Garde seems to be Avant-Gone. Perrin's Pride...where is it?? But, here's some that have outdone themselves so far.. :)
V V venturing into Elsa Spaeth's space
The rather grandiose duo of Rhasody and Comtesse deBouchaud
Kermesina and V V
The darling newcomer Tentel
Wish I could've caught the wren as she poked her head out.. yes, there's a birdhouse in this mass of Ville de Lyon :)
Pretty and fruitful Olgae. She has given me several seedlings
There are others of course, but I'll close with the seedling from Abundance

Thanks for the very nice pictures. Perkie was here this afternoon . She had been here several times but she was astonished what she saw now. . I was wondering if I had so many plants blooming more flowers than normal but indeed she confirmed it. Now wait what Peer and Ton will say

I'll say. Outstanding! That 'Abundance' seedling is a little treasure. Much nicer color than the darker pink 'Abundance'. How does it compare to last year's flowers?

Thank you, Joan. I have quite a few seedlings this season so I'm very curious what they will be next season.
Roelie, isn't it nice to have a lot of blooms? Mine can't hold a candle to all of yours but compared to last season, I feel terrific about all the blooms here. :) I bet Perkie had a great time!
Thank you, Jane. The seedling is pretty much the same as last year but the plant itself is growing nicely. It will need a larger trellis next season, and I'd say that's a good thing. :) I like the parent plant too...such a cheerful clematis.

Oh my, Tanya, what a crop of blossoms. How beautiful. I especially like Tentel, but all are lovely. I see you have several V Vs. That was a big success for me earlier this year. I like the combiations you have.

Double YAY, Tanya - that's wonderful news. He'll certainly be coming home to cheerful surroundings :) My Florida v. sieboldii didn't return this year nor did F. alba plena :( I guess I was pushing the envelope. I like the sign 'Tanya's Place' :) Last year I bought Ville de Lyon - turned out to be Rosemoor, which I already have! I have Rhapsody coming from Chalk Hill which makes me happy after seeing yours. I bought Perrins Pride too - now I'm worried. Of course my favorite is your little blue Olgae :)

I noticed, and pieced together, the "Tanya's Pl" sign too right off the bat - none of us miss a detail, do we? LOL. I'm into the pinks all of a sudden, I really really like your "Tentel" (one of the nicest pics I've seen of it) and also like the looks of "Abundance"... my list just got longer

Such a nice season for you! That Tentel is truly special. I also like your Kermesina combo! Things are popping here as well, but I agree, a very odd season so far. Today I see Hagley Hybrid and Huldine strutting their stuff.

Terry, thank you so much!
Thank you, Berry, I've been fortunate that the bloom times coincide. :)
Well, Sus, it will be tomorow now for DH to get home.. paperwork! But, he is in good spirits knowing his chair and remote are just hours away. :) If you decide you want an Olgae, I have one to send you but suppose we should wait until fall(?) If you were nearby we could just do a quick replant. ;) I think you'll be very pleased with Rhapsody.. it is really a bloom machine. If you check the big box stores you may be able to find VdL for a bargain pretty soon. Our nurseries around here are having pretty good sales already. I love Perrin's Pride...hope it does well for you.
Actually the sign reads "Bill and Tanya's Pl." You guys are seeing the back of it. :) Kind of neat, huh? :) Thanks for your kind comments, James.

Thank you. Our posts must've crossed at the same time, Marie. :) I'm thinking I'm going to have to get Huldine. I love the form of Huldine with the unique arching sepals. Is yours full grown and is it as tall as the description tells? I have been thinking of you. You enjoy some of the more unique plants and I've got a bears breeches (Acanthus spinosa) coming into bloom for the first time...beautiful plant. I'll try to post pics of it soon in the garden forum. :)

Of course I come way to late to admire your Clematis but here I am anyway. Something told me go and check out the Clematis forum especially since you , Tanya, mentioned these Blooms the other day. I am so glad I came ! Wow, what a show! I am so envious. I am not very successful with Clematis. I will follow Gardenfiends suggestion: feed them, they are heavy feeders. So that will be next year now. Boy, will I feed them! Your Clemis are BEAUTIFUL Tanya, you are the Clematis Lady !

Tanya, looking for a 2nd time. Just noticing that you have Rhapsody and CdeBouchaud together. Do you treat them both as a type 3 and hard prune? I thought Rhapsody was a type 2 and CdeB a type 3.

Thank you for your kind comments, Gerlinde! I'm afraid I am small potatoes by comparison to many here at the forum as far as how many clematis I have. Still, I feel like I have a nice collection. Many of them were inspired by Gardenbuddies. :)
I thank you, Susan. I would love for V V to become taller but I don't think it's going to happen.
If I remember correctly, Joan, I trim them both down about half way. They are my most successful pairing so they must be happy!
