Princess Diana just starting to open her first flowers, and John Davis first flush is almost past.

How lovely together.
Most people who see Princess D. in my garden want to get one.

Love those pinks!

I purchased Princess Diana last fall and eagerly awaited her first flower. I wasn't disappointed--she's a beauty and looks very nice with your pink rose! I paired mine with a Daniel Deronda clematis, which is a large-flowered purple. Now I wish I had paired all my clematis when I planted them.

Princess Diana is one of my favorites. It does take well our hot and humid summers. Some pm however. A little warning, it could be the climate of course but Princes Diana gets huge and can swallow (strangle!) the host plant if it is paired with one.

Wow, Joane, I had to go and see what is going on in the Clematis forum and so I found your Princess Diana. What a Beauty. John Davis (Explorer Rose?) looks beautiful as well. I got the John Cabot, it's darker but mine looks smaller then the John Davis? Your Clematis/Rose combo is very attractive.

Yes, lovely combination. Princess Diana grows large even in our climate. Mine grows into an Acer about 4m in height and completely obscures it three quarters of the way up.
