Today we visited the first lustrum of the clematisfestival at the nursery "The Boschhoeve" in Wolfheze and I like to share this lovely clematis-feast with you... As there were so many visitors we did not take too much pictures, but here are some:

We saw many lovely clematis in flower, met members of the British Clematis Society, and last but not least, Mr. Ton Hannink, very busy with workshop "Sowing and take cuttings of clematis" and also answering a lot of questions of the visitors...
Believe me, it was a very special day, worth to go there! Gerda

It was a very good day. The weather was good during the whole day. There were a lot of special clematis and some new cultivars, a very good mixture. For me it was a busy day; 2 lectures and 1 workshop about cuttings and how to handle seeds. The red clematis is 'Rebecca' and the plants had a lot of flowers. Beautiful color.

Rebecca looks a lovely clematis - we made the picture because of the one different coloured flower in the middle...We wondered will the plant be giving different flowers always? Gerda

How lucky you are to have such a big variety of clemmies to choose from, with the added bonus of Ton's workshop.

Gerda, I'm glad you pointed it out. The red flowers were so eye-catching that I didn't notice at first. Do you have a close-up photo? It doesn't look like it's from the same plant.

Ton, could you tell me what it is that makes this integrifolia different from other integrifolias? It's beautiful but to me it looks very similar to other integrifolias of that colour. What are the criteria for new clematis to be registered and named? I'm still a newbie with clematis and am getting a little confused. I obviously have lots to learn.

You are right that this plant is a little bit different but the plant is higher as an integrifolia. It is more between roogouchi and integrifolia. You are free to register a new one but it is better if the plant is complete new!
