Just a few pics of things Clematis blooming here. Second round of C. White Swan
C. Duchess of Albany
Herbaceous seedling from GardensNorth about 18" high but not blooming yet
C. serratifolia
C. heracleifolia from Stan Zubrowski
Seedling C. Radar Love
Otehrs blooming are Polish Spirit, Madame Julia Correvon, Joe Zary, Doctor FL Skinner, durandii, Sally Cadge, alba Luxurians, alpina Ruby, and several seedlings.I think henryi will bloom next week but only 1 bud so far. My "no shows" for plants have been jackmanii, Crimson Elizabeth, Red Cardinal and Crimson Star. Still to bloom is John Paul II and Golden Charm; and General Sikorski is just starting after having had the plant cut down by a gopher. And finally, alas poor Sally Cadge - the squeeze is on -

Clayton, you have a great variety in bloom at the moment, I didn't realize you would get flowers from the atragenes this late in the season. How lucky you are to have a white swan seedling in flower.

I think I have mislabelled the picture as serratifolia above. It is more likely My Angel. The White Swan is actually the named plant. I have not tried seeds from this plant as this is the first year for it to bloom. My Joe Zary, serratifolia, White Swan, Dr. FL Skinner, John Paul II, henryi and Golden Charm are all on the north side of the garage so they are tending to stay "youthfull" longer and also blooming later.

I was wondering about serratifolia! Quite a nice selection. I don't get much rebloom on the atragenes like others seem to with the exception of Brunette which gives constant (though sparse) blooms. I love that particular DoA flower!

Clayton, I don't know if 'My Angel' will be a problem for you in zone three but it went CRAZY here. It spread by underground runners and it took me three years to finally get rid of it. How is it doing for you? Is this it's first season? Since your growing season is shorter than mine here in Michigan, it may not be a problem at all. I hope not.
