The snow had melted and the tulips were up 3" to 4" -- It was such a lovely surprise!

What's up where you are?

Welcome back! How was your trip to Spain?

Not much up, just a few snowdrops, my witchhazel is in bloom and the hellebores are starting to show buds, but you really have to look for them.

It was warm, Terry! LOL -- Seriously, it was a wonderful trip, and Spain was not what I had expected; it was much better. I will be posting photographs by next week, hopefully.

What is that Oriental poppy in your garden? Is it Watermelon? Mine is up about 4" right now.

Welcome back, Gloria. Wow, your tulips are coming up already? That's amazing. My daffs are up only about 3", but most of them aren't up at all, never mind the tulips. LOL. I do have several white Crocus buds, though.

I also have alliums coming up, maybe about 2". The Blue Grape Hyacinths that I planted last fall proved to be evergreen. Since the only other patch I've ever had kept getting eating down to the ground by deer, I had no idea they'd stay green all winter.

Welcome back, Gloria.

Thanks DJ. I always say that March is the longest month of the year. It isn't winter and yet we can't count on spring just yet.

Hi Gloria. Hope you had a great time.

Thank you Moira. I did have a wonderful time with my daughters, and learned a lot as well. I hope to make a trip across to England some time this year also.

Gloria, are you talking about this one?

If so, it was purchased many years ago from White Flower Farm or the Institute of Ecostudies. I don't know which one it is. I redid my garden last year and may have done most of it in! I think I have seed somewhere I should try sowing some, it was pretty. If I find the seeds, do you want some?

By the way if you go to England, you should go when it is around a cyclamen show-you can meet so many gardenbuddies just at the show. I did and it was wonderful!

Oh, you know it! I love that color. I remember when I first found out about White Flower Farm, their catalogs were $5 (20+ years ago). I sent them $15 and asked for catalogs for my mother, my sister, and me. I got a refund of $10 with a letter saying I was only allowed one catalog! Do you remember that?

That would be great, Terry. I remember your photos of that meeting. I was fortunate enough to get to the Chelsea Flower Show a couple of years back, and oh my what a treat!

I'll look through the fridge and see if I can find them. I'll PM if I do.
