Blue Pearl is my favorite of the chrysanthus forms.
Amazing how fast some tommasinianus multiply. Planted as 1 corm 2.5 years ago. It's either Ruby Red or Whitewell Purple.

Maybe Monday or Tuesday I might see a flower open. The weather forecast for Monday is 50 and 61 for Tuesday. Picture was taken today. I hope this is the last of the snow.

The crocus are really starting to take off here. Maybe by Monday or Tuesday, I should have hundreds of crocus flowering in my holding beds.

Galanthophile, I am. Been waiting so long to start crossing. I'm a little bummed though. I was checking my bed where I planted the more expensive crocus. I saw no grow tips popping up where I planted 2 corms of heuffelianus Dark Eyes. I dig down and both are rotten. All the other crocus in the bed have grow tips popping up so I'm not sure what happened. I'm going to have to rethink my mix for planting expensive crocus. I ordered heuffelianus Carpathian Wonder for fall 08. I suppose these expensive crocus should be grown in pots and in a greenhouse.

Guff what a shame, I just googled it and it is a fantastic crocus. I would grow the new ones in pots.

TerryK, heuffelianus Dark Eyes and Carpathian Wonder are very pretty crocus. Just imagine what crossing to different forms may produce. I emailed where I bought them, and had asked to add 1 heuffelianus Dark Eyes to my Fall order. I received an email back stating that I will receive two new corms in the fall, free of charge. He said he had losses of heuffelianus Dark Eyes in his nursery and said mine were probably bad corms. What a nice guy.
