It's absolutely gorgeous! I assume it's one of those that require perfect drainage. Is it cold hardy?

Yes good drainage is needed, it is hardy with me in a pot under glass with no heat and I am sure it would stand lower temperatures than I get here.

Iris suaveolens is hardy here in zone 3, where in our dry climate, it does well in regular soil. I only have the normal yellow form.

Perhaps I should mention that I. suaveolens isn't a bulbous iris; it's rhimozatous, and evergreen.

I did manage to buy the yellow form at a show yesterday and with buds on.
