Maybe this weekend it will be sunny and warm like today and I will have a chance to take some more. The crocus are really starting to take off. I added 100 crocus to this spot in December, there just starting to pop up. I also put Blue Bells along the edge of the bricks. When my snow drop seedlings are flowering size, I'm going to replant a couple hundred here. Turn the bank into a mini meadow.
In this bed are 100 Blue Pearl, 25 Firefly and 100 Negro Boy, it will be another week or so before I see the first flowers.
This picture is of my dog's grave, planted 800 crocus. I think it's going to turn out better then I had hoped. }

Starting to see flowers in my first holding bed, they look like they multiplied 2-4x.

Galanthophile, thanks. The squirrels never bothered them before until this year so I had to pickup a roll of netting to protect them.
I have a ton of leaves to rake, thats about 6-10 inches of matted leaves to the right side of the crocus. Every fall I pile leaves to protect my daylily's. I'm tempted to peak and see how my seedling are doing, if they survived. Maybe this weekends work project.

Maybe not. Rain is expected. Where in NY are you? Since your flowers are just appearing I would guess uptstate from me. I find sping the most rewarding season. I love watching the garden wake up after the winter.

Seil, thanks. A work in progress, most are just holding beds for now. The crocus on my dog's grave won't be touched, unless they get overcrowded. To start my grass banks I need 10K+ and that would cost too much, so growing from seed is the only option and letting the ones I have bought multiply over time. Heres two gardens and you can see how many crocus you need to have the effect that they have. You need to highlight, copy and paste the code to browser. Clicking on link won't show the pictures for some reason. www.srgc.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1286.0;attach=48045;image www.srgc.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1460.0;attach=48923;image Plantynut, yes Upstate NY, about 30 mins from Rochester. Yes it's dark now and sprinkling. My dog's grave last spring.
I see they made there way through 5 inches of new soil, I was a little worried they wouldn't show.
This is vernus Uklin Strain. My camera doesn't do it justice.
One last update picture until this weekend.

Warm and sunny here, so I was able to take a few.
These Ruby Giants have done nice in this spot. Going from 1 corm to these nice clumps in only their 3rd spring of flowering.

Plantynut, Valia, thanks. Uklin Strain and Tatra Shades. No pollen on the Uklin Strain(bummer), but I did some crosses with the Tatra Shades pollen. :)
In a few years I should have enough seed to share. First year I had around 200 seeds, last year 400-500. So I'm moving forward somewhat.

I took two pictures of my holding bed. It's hard to see the flowers with the sunny and shady spots.
Tatra Shades
This is suppose to be vernus var heuffelianus, but I don't think it is.

What a great job Guff and I can't believe Ruby Giant! What did you amend the bed with-steriods?!?!? Where did you get the last two from, they are very nice looking?

TerryK, thanks. Just leaf compost. I did sprinkle some bulb feed during the fall. My unknown might/is "Graecus". I did order 6 corms of these also, but I think they sent me 12 corms of the "Graecus" and none of the vernus var heuffelianus. The vernus var heuffelianus should look much like the Tatra Shades, with the dark w markings on the tips. Graecus came from Bulbmeister, and the Tatra Shades from odysseybulbs. Giants on bank are starting to take off.

TerryK, I wouldn't bother ordering from Bulbmeister. I was giving the run around today on the vernus var heuffelianus. Excuse after excuse after excuse. Saying they were miss tagged and such when I planted the corms, but if that was the case why do I have 12 corms with all the same flowers .....lol. Funny stuff, I even sent pictures, still excuses. It's the principle not the $7 or whatever I paid for them. I didn't get what I paid for, thats the bottom line. If I dig them up and place more sand/gravel in the bed this summer, you can have a couple. I counted the tips and there should be close to 25 new corms when they go dormant. If your going to order any crocus I would buy from odysseybulbs.

Bloodroot are starting to flower.
Think this is a form of scilla or maybe something else. White flowers with blue/green markings.
