Masses of geraniums flowering now. They seem very much earlier this year. In between a patch of geranium Pastel clouds and Geranium Maculatum Beth Chatto I have found a cross between the two. The laeves are typically sylvatium but the colour and the flower size is more like Maculatum.

I'm a little confused as to what is what here. Am I right that the flower in the second photo is your new discovery? If so, congratulations! It is gorgeous! The white centre reminds me of sylvaticum 'Mayflower' and the colour is absolutely lovely. I have two Beth Chatto's because I like the gentle lavender pink so much. Your discovery is even better, because it is blushing :-)

Oops sorry the pink flower with white centre is the new one. The purple flower is pastel clouds and obviously the otherflower top right is mac beth chatto.
Unfortunatly at present this plant is growing between paving and is quite small so i need to remove it carefully and grow on to see if it has any real potential. It is more sylvaticum in nature but the deep blush and larger flower size are quite different.

Lovely discovery, congratulations. Also top marks for your photo of Beth Chatto which I find extremely difficult to photo, always tends to look white.

Richard to photograph subtle colours you need low indirect light either early morning or early evening. If they are coming out bleached you may also need to underexpose more. I also shoot in raw so any compensations can be changed in post processing.
