Unfortunately, it's got to go. As pretty as it looks in spring, Fen's Ruby is the worst thug I've ever encountered. I planted it two years ago in a narrow strip of soil between paving and a 60cm (2') wall, thinking it would be safely contained in there. This year it has managed to climb up behind the wall and completely infest the area above, where fairly delicate plants are growing that can't compete. So, having made one last photo, I'm out tomorrow to liquidate it.

Awwwww...Fen's Ruby is one of my favorites! But I know that growing conditions change its behavior very dramatically. I have it on a rocky, dry, sunny hillside with no irrigation in summer, and it stays nicely contained and spreads just a little each year. In better soil and with summer rain, I'm sure it is more aggressive. But the chartreuse blooms on the red foliage is just so pretty! (It makes a good container plant too.)

Yeah, I was all ready to adopt some, until I realized that you were in Germany. This is a plant I am not familiar with, and really, have never seen before. What kind of Euphorb grower could I be??? I like it. Too bad about its mega invasive habit. Thanks for posting this, or I still wouldn't know about it!}

David, Thank you for the great idea. I'd never thought of putting it in a container! That's what I'll do.
