At one of our early spring meetings of the local Cactus & Succulent Society, this was up on the raffle table. I don't always buy tickets, and I'm sure there was something else up there that got me involved, but when they call your number... I tracked down the guy who had donated it. He said they use these locally as trees in front of hotels, and that it needed more water than you would expect for a Euphorb. Another guy told me to trim it regularly to keep it small, as it is a tree type. It did lose all it's leaves over the colder part of winter, and spent it's time outside, pretty much in full sun. I watered it well about every 10 days in winter and every four or five now. When it gets hot, I'll move that to about every three, depending on observation. That is the sum & total of my information. Looking for someone who knows, or someone who knows someone that grows this and can tell me more...
From this picture, it looks like this plant could be about three years old...
Thanks for anything you can tell me.

Cena, I have one of these too (E. cotinifolia), and it's a rapid grower and very amenable to pruning. Even after mine got badly dessicated after a move a few weeks back, new sprouts are coming out all over it now. It's a Caribbean native, so not succulent at all--you would treat it like you would a poinsettia. I use a heavier potting soil (well draining) than for C&S, and water it regularly, and prune heavy in spring. It has the cutest flowers too! I assume you could grow it in the ground, but it remains an outdoor container plant for me.

Oh David, Thank YOU! There is a very good possibility I could have lost this to lazy watering. I tend to take for granted the fact that I grow mostly succulents and cactus. I was told to water more, and I did, even during the cold. I don't grow Poinsettias, but it does give a 'like' habit to work from. These are used as landscape plants here and grow in front of one of the big hotels, Hilton(?, I forget which they told me). And thanks for correcting my spelling. Going back over my notes, it looks like I forgot to cross that 'T'; how silly is that? Can't even read my own writing! You can see all the places it has been pruned. And it did lose all it's leaves transitioning or Winter, don't know for sure which. I just love the color.
