I have at least two of these Thai hybrids that are sporting only one stalk. No signs of branches or relief anywhere. I know that I could lop them off, re-root the growing part, and pray ferverently for growth at both ends... but SHOULD I? It's that long thorny stick with it's little growth poof at the end. Perhaps it offends me? I don't know. I just know some years it is a trial to keep leaves on them. PS, these have been getting Liquid Ironite since I brought them home, and no sign of lower green yet.
The other stick guy (notice that I unconsciously framed the shot to leave out most of the trunk...)

Cena, I really like these E. x lomi hybrids, and wish I had one of your colors. They never seem to stop blooming! I have come to enjoy the single stalk of it now that it has gotten taller. It looks more striking as it gets taller. I keep the Somona hybrid next to it to offset the bare base.
