If it's cyparissias watch out! It'll get into everything and you'll never be rid of it!

You got such great shots of each one! I tend to prefer the dark-eyed martinii type cyathia. Glad to see you didn't dump your cyparissius!

All of those are lovely. The only one I have is polychroma, in it's first year. I hope I hae enough sun for it.
Great photography.

That chartreuse is one of my favorite colors in the garden. I hope to get polychroma again - love that one.

Gorgeous photos Mara!

Oh yes, Mara...How lovely they are !!!! I wish I could plant more of them...
I have huge clumps of E. chariacas wulfenii, they are such a presence in the garden, year-round...(and in the whole garden this year, with hundreds of babies emerging..it was clearly a mistake to go on holidays at the period when it splashed it seeds away, lol!!!)

And E. polychroma is an all time favourite too...

I have planted last spring a selection of E. polychroma, called 'Midas', which is supposed to have flowers twice as big as the typical E. polychroma, AND to take superb purple and red colours in fall...well...to date, a shy appearance of some purple at the end of the leaves is all I have seen..too early, or it is too young maybe...

Zephirine, do you know E. polychroma 'Lacy'? It's a variegated one that is more delicate in every respect. I'd read good things about it and planted one on trust, last year. I couldn't imagine it would look good, but it turns out to be very pretty. Definitely recommend it.

Mara, I haven't heard of that one - and I cannot seem to find any information on the internet. I have E. polychroma 'Variegata' - could that be the same as 'Lace'?

Sorry - the name is 'Lacy' - not 'Lace'. Have now found information on the internet, and it says that it's the same as 'Variegata'.

Yes, the name Lacy is just to make it sound more attractive. It's often also offered simply as variegata.

Last yr I posted asking for an ID & asked why it had not bloomed in a few yrs. It finally did this yr. & it was beautiful lasting 3 months. Thanks to all who ID'd. This yr I'm also going to move it to a new place in the front yard making room for a waterfall.
