According to Digging Dog nursery, which propagates this for nurseries, Cherokee is a hybrid of Euphorbia characias wulfenii and Euphorbia x martinii (which in turn is a hybrid of E. characias and E. amygdaloides). During the summer, this plant is pleasantly green with red hints on new growth, but in winter it turns a wonderful burgandy and really shines! It is hardy to zone 6, and likes zone and little to moderate water.

Such a great look. I can see how one could easily end up with a large collection of different Euphorbias.
And Digging Dog Nursery sure has a great list of plants. How is it there are all these great plants out your direction and no one has them in this area?

Wow, I really like this one. Is it available here in the US?

Kvilledude, you can get these mail order from diggingdog.com. They have a nice selection of Euphorbias.

Cath, regional differences really are striking. When I was in Texas I found just one Euphorbia (rigida) in all the nurseries I went to. I think since so many are Mediterranean origin, they are more suited to the climate here, though some, like your myrsinites, seem to do just fine with summer water and humidity!

David, thanks for the link to digging dog nursery. I have ordered a catalog and will probably order some plants when the catalog arrives.
