David or any others knowledgeable about euphorbias, does anyone know what euphorbia this is? It is stoloniferous in nature and likes to spread. I got it at an old homesite and put it in a bucket to contain it, but somehow it got loose and has naturalized in an area. I am not concerned about it spreading where it is but would like to know what it is.

Also, just wanted to post a picture of my euphorbia characias wulfenii that was but a mere seedling last spring. It has grown a lot in one year. Another one can be seen in the far background.

I can't see the leaves in great detail, but it does look like a Euphorbia cyparissias, which spreads easily underground. Does it die back completely in winter?

Those are very nice wulfeniis you have there! Nice and bushy--some get real leggy and tall.

David, it does die back down in the winter. The leaves are sort of thin and threadlike. I believe I have seen pictures of Euphorbia cyparissias and believed that was what it was. Thanks for the help.

Wow! I think that's what my euphorbia is. It spreads like crazy, which is great because it's in a sloping rock garden with no place to go. It blooms pale greenish-yellow just like the pic, then the blooms turn rosy mauve end of summer. The leaves are very, very soft, and the blooms have a pleasant fragrance. The sap is milky and glue-like, and it does die back every fall. Does this sound right?

Sounds like my plant Elvis. I love it too and want it to spread like crazy.
