The only Euphorbia in my garden. But you GB and you David have shown a number of great Euphorbias. I guess I have to plant some more Euphorbias.

Thanks to you GB and to David, I have opened my mind for euphorbias. I especially took fancy to your e. martinii.

Lovely Tomas, especially against the dark green of the hedge in the background

I have this one too, Tomas. It blooms for a very long time in the spring. I'm thinking it might look good with jewel colored tulips growing up through. Here is mine growing with some spring bulbs:

I love yellow and blue together Sue. Sometimes I even add white. This looks like a spot for wonderful experimentation. Have you ever tried Spring Green tulips?

Yes, GB, I planted some Spring Green tulips a few weeks ago although not in this area. I went a bit nuts and planted over 600 bulbs this fall but I didn't map them so spring will be a real surprise this coming year-lol.

Euphorbia Polychroma is such a carefree plant and it's brilliant color is welcome in the spring. Let it go to seed and it will spread readily.

Such an acid yellow - this hasn't proved easy to grow for me - I lost the first plant I had of it but hopefully the one I have now is established but not as big as any of these lovely specimens.

Absolutely LOVE this wonderful Euphorbia! My polychromas live next to cascading purple aubrieta. Behind those two rascals I plant whatever tulips strike my fancy from year to year. Last year it was bright pink of Tulip Ollioules as seen in the photo below. E. Polychroma provides such a neat element for very wild, wacky color combos that wake up your springtime garden. Lots of fun to play with instead of just the usual pastels. Thanks for sharing your photo!!!

Hi Allison! Welcome to Gardenbuddies. It's really a fun website and VERY educational, plus there are lots of really great, nice people on here. I'm glad you like the Euphorbia Polychroma. It's one of my favorite plants. The best thing about it is that it blooms at the same time as tulips, and it's a smashing, bright color that really makes a nice impact. One thing you should know about Euphorbias is that they give off a white milky sap when you cut stems, pick flowers, or dig the plant. Lots of people are sensitive/allergic to this sap. If you get it on your skin it can blister or in your eyes (or other mucus membranes) it can really STING and BURN. Even if you start out without a sensitivity to the plant, it somehow builds up in most people the more they handle euphorbias, so you can suddenly become sensitive to it. So if you get this plant, do be careful to wear gloves when you are handling it. Even though you have to use these precautions, euphorbias (especially polychroma!) are definitely worth it! HAPPY GARDENING!!! Linda
