Hi, all - Took my son to the local pre-bonsai mart this weekend. Walked away with a Ficus nerifolia and a Ficus Too Little (which isn't as far along, and needs to grow a season before potting on). Anyway, the nerifolia was pinched back regularly and had a decent broom shape to begin with:
After doing a major detangling of the pot-bound rootball, we chopped about a third of it back and potted it up. Did just a little pinching and trimming, and there ya are:
The pot's a bit large for the tree, but I wanted to reduce the rootage slowly, so this'll do for now. Gonna have a forest of pots before long, I can feel it! Scott
