Serissa's are very tempermental Sam, the slightest change in position, or a draught, or too wet ot too dry, they react by dropping their leaves, they usually shoot new growth after a while. It's a question of finding the right position for them indoors and sticking to it :-). Chinese Elm should really only be grown outdoors, but as you have had it inside up 'til now I would wait until next year, late Spring/Early Summer before putting it outside permanently

hi, thanks for your advice. I have read many books which suggest that the c/elm should be let to go slightly dormant, by reducing temp, watering and feed. I've done this and seems to be slowing up if you like. the serissa is cheap and for my grandad for xmas just looking after it untill then. £6 from asda, haha sam
