Can anyone recomend any trees that would be used for "miniature bonsai"? I would like to get into the minis but not sure on what kind of tree I should use. Any and all info would be appreciated.

Thanks

basicaly the same species for regular Bonsai but avoid plants with big leaves and coarse growth. elms are good, oaks not so good. etc.

Good trees to start with Jesse, they are very easy to train and sturdy little trees = easy to grow - Kath

The elms are the only deciduous tree that grows as a feral around here, with our hot and very dry summers. This would make them pretty much bulletproof!
