This was a very small weedy seedling that I originally plnned to grow as semi cascade, but I learnt its bad to make plans so early, they tend to, err, change their minds! ;) This is how it looked after digging up:
Then after a bit of pruning for informal upright:
And then I saw there arwe two dormant buds quite low down, potential new leader!

I doubt this will work as a shohinn sized bonsai, the leaves are just too big so I'm letting it grow out. A stem has shot straight up low down which will thicken the trunk some and I'll see where to go from there next year.
