Hi,

Just bought Acer Palmatum atropurpureum. Its 2-feet high. Im going to grow it as a tree. Dont know much about them. If anyone knows anything about these as trees let me know.

Position
Care
Feed
Pot size (how big should a pot be to allow a 10m high tree)

Any way bonsai. Ive take a cutting.

Are these outdoor bonsai or can they be kept indoors. What are there requirements

If you're intending to let it grow 10 meters high (that will of course take several years), it would be much better to plant it into the garden.

Whatever you decide put it in a position where it doesn't get strong north or easterly cold winds blowing over it and also not where it would get strong pm summer sun on it, especially as a young tree. The reason for this is that the leaves are susceptible to sun and wind burn.

Ok, thanks. Thought you may know haha. i am aware that it will take a while to grow tall. Would like to think i could do it though.

It is in the shade until 3-4pm then gets sun until 7pm

Hows that sound
