Anyone seen this tree? (pinus taeda) Trying it from seed...also oxydendrum altho I think the latter is slow growing. We don't have too many pines here and I'm wondering why (B.C. coast).

Loblolly Pine is a native of the Gulf Coast and Southeastern US.

I'm not sure how it would do in the Northwest, but they have it available at the Arbor Day site (and others, I'm sure).

I like the look of this tree...plus it is one of the fastest growing of this species. Have the seed sitting under lights now...waiting....
