I am growing this tree from seed.....ptelea trifoliata....and some say the flowers stink and some say they have a very delicious orange-blossom scent; everyone says the leaves stink when crushed but only when crushed. Has anyone grown this and can they tell me how the flowers really smell?

I find the flowers to be quite pleasant. They don't really waft, and are more subtle than overwhelming, but nice none the less. Citrus-like is the best way I can describe them. Here's a pic of one growing at the U of Minnesota arb.
