Hi! I have a 10 yr old Stella Cherry Tree and recently the cherries have not matured but instead have turned brown. ?? I read somewhere that I should be using lime, is this true? I only use a basic fertilizer.

Also, I have a 10 yr old Pear Tree and have not had much luck growing fruit, any help would be appreciated!!

thanks!!

Has it been pruned lately? Does is get a lot of water?
I have a Stella, and this year was the best for cherry bounty. I have three cherry trees, different kinds and they all were abundant.

I had them pruned way back and a lawn company ferilized them (Truegreen) I don't know what they used. I also get these trees sprayed for bugs in the spring also.

But this has been my most fruitful year and I don't know all the reasons why either.

I know this is 2 years late, but my 2 year old Cherry tree has the same issue. I found out today I have a fungus. The wet spring brings this on. I have to spray for fungus next spring when the blossoms appear and this will halt the fungus. The wet springs bring this on. If spring is more dry you have a better chance of not getting the fungus, but I'll spray anyway each spring. The fungus hurts the cherry crop not the tree. Hope this helps.
