Author Message   Goswimmin  My Weather Posted on Saturday, June 26, 2004 - 07:54 pm:    This is a new plant for me. I have seen them in some gardens and liked the way that they look. I started some of the seed this spring and just now I am getting a seed head coming up. The plant is small as not that many seeds germinated form me. I am wondering how the seed head looks when it is ready to pick and save for next year? Here in zone 5 they are ready around late aug. early Sept. Yours will probably come in much sooner. One head supplies me for the next season and I just leave the rest on for the birds to enjoy.
