Hi! Does anyone have current pictures of grasses that will do well in zone 6?? All the pictures seem to be missing out of this section. I have been looking at old threads and have missed out on all the photos. I am interested in the flowers on zebra grass especially. I did not know it flowered. And any others anyone wants to share. Thanks!!

Angela

I suppose it would depend on your definition of flowering. ;) But Zebra grass is a very pretty grass. It flowers in the fall and personally I think it's prettier in the spring/summer time. Another attractive grass in our zone (6) is Maiden Grass. It is green in the spring and summer but turns a beautiful redish hue and flowers out. So both grasses together provide a year around beauty. But make sure you cut them down pretty low in the late fall/early winter. It makes them a lot fuller and cleaner because most of the stalks will hold on through the winter.

I'll work on getting some pictures posted as they grow. They are just now about a foot or so tall.
