Hey... So I just got 4 little clumps of pampas grass, supposedly a year old, and just coming out of dormancy. This will be my first time ever planting any type of grass. I just planted them in a semi-dry, well drained area that gets full sun... But now I'm not sure what else to do. Most of them are green with some brownish parts and one of them is brown with some green parts... is this okay? I need some advice on what to do next. Am I supposed to trim them? Take off the brown leaves? And how far apart are they supposed to be planted? Any help on what I should do, or should not do, would be appreciated.

Amber, I answered part of this in response to your post in a different thread in the grass forum. You can cut off dead bits, but I don't think you should trim them back, as they should start sending up their flower stalks at some point soon.
