My sister and I were on a garden walk last year and she was given a division of this small hosta when its owner saw her admiring it. It was very small, a full plant being maybe 10-12" wide and 6" tall, with bluish leaves. This year her little start produced these amazing flowers. The owner didn't know its name, and I'd like to seek some out.

I'll also try cross-posting of the mystery plant forum.

It could well be Blue Cadet, the flowers of mine are similar!

It is definitely not Blue Cadet.....
the leaf shape and color is very wrong.

Try Hosta venusta.

I think it's Hosta nakaiana, from which many were cultivated (Golden Tiara, etc.). Someone on Gardenweb led me to believe this. Perhaps venusta is a relative?

I really do not want to get into a "dog sniffing" contest here.....
but your initial post indicated an interest in accuracy....
so I'll say this..........

the anthers on Hosta venusta have tiny purple dots on them but look yellow.

the anthers on Hosta nakaiana are purple.

Here's a guide to flower parts:

Looking at your photos of the bloom I'm still thinking you have a H. venusta.

Oh, I want accuracy! I'm having my sister (the owner of said hosta) check her flowers. Very interesting!
