Well the hosta orders are starting to come in and I'm just thrilled. Still several yet to arrive but I'll try to be patient. If your wondering at all what to expect from some of the hosta growers out there, please visit my site, I've added an area that shows what I've received so far with photos of the newly arrived orders. This will give you an idea if you haven't tried mailorder before or that particular nursery or seller. www.rachelshostas.com

I spent some time looking at your garden site and really enjoyed the variety of hostas. You have some very beautiful plants. I only started gardening a few years ago myself but slowly I'm expanding my hosta collection. Here's some of them:

Missgarden, omg...those are looking gorgeous...I just love the last blue hosta against the red roses....VERY PRETTY. Now I see your in Ontario...I just moved from there to Colorado. I was smack in between Ottawa and Montreal....are you anywhere close to there? Thanks for viewing my site....also do you know the names of the hostas you posted here? I'll be visiting my old garden in Ontario in late May early June...I have ample hostas still over there, if you have a wish list I'd be glad to see what I could ship you from there or heck if your close enough you can nab them yourself. Don't be shy, if your interested send me a personal note and I'll see what I can do. Since your starting your hosta collection I'd be happy to help with the addiction. They are the friendship plant afterall. www.rachelshostas.com

I'm glad you enjoyed these pictures. As to the names: 1 - unfortunately it was missing the name tag 2 - Patriot 3 - June, I find the color is much better in shade 4 - Sieboldiana Elegans with red Flower Carpet rose If I was a little closer I would love to come see your former hosta garden. I live in Mississauga...it would be a 'bit' of a drive. I'll send you an e-mail regarding your generous offer...but first let me go feed the kids :)

Rachel: I have to say "What a beautiful website you have." It must be so overwhelming for you to have to start all over in Colorado. Were you able to bring any of your hostas with you to the USA? I noticed on your website that you have listed a hosta called Barbara Ann. That is exactly my grandmother's name (she passed away before I was born, but I gave my daughter part of her name.) I have searched out my two favorite mail order company's: Hosta Choice Gardens and Flora & Hardy and neither of them list Barbara Ann. Could you tell me where you got it? Now I just have to have it!! (I know I know.. I say that about every hosta, lol) ladydarcie Link is to my main hosta garden. This year is LEAP YEAR!

Thank you folks, I did bring some plants with me. Karma I recommend ALL HOSTAS LOL. Ladydarcie I had gotten my Barbabra Ann from Naylor Creek, not in Canada unfortunately. I got rid of several plants last year before coming to Colorado and that hosta was one of them, otherwise I would of shared a piece with you. I just re-ordered myself a new one and waiting for it to arrive. Sorry I wasn't much help, but ask the nurseries if they can get it in for next year perhaps. Rideau Woodland Ramble (near Ottawa) is a great nursery for hostas too if they are close enough to you, they just may have it. I've dealt with Hosta Choice and they do indeed rock!
