Does anyone else have heuchera monet,if so can you tell me what the autumn ,winter colour is. I have just bought a heuchera labeled as monet, but the foliage is plain green, not white cream splashed as it should be. Hoping it is what it claims to be and the colour will change come spring.

I ordered Monet and got a dormant plant and so far ,nothing. This is one that I really wanted but am starting to doubt that it is going to live.

I have tried Monet and had no luck with it. Same with Heronswood Mist. A shame, but other heucheras are stronger! I am trying Heuchera Hercules...but have some doubts about it too. http://spi.8m.com/hercules.html

My local nursey had this, but all of the pots had very small growth and looked rather weak.

I killed a monet or two in the past, but loved the folliage and kept trying. This spring I found a pot of a similar foliaged heuch growing well, above the ground with no protection. I missed it when I gathered my unplanted summer purchases to put in a ditch for the winter. But no label. I'm wondering if it wasn't a gift from a friend dividing hers. If I remember correctly, I've seen 2 heuchs with the same white with green spreckled leaves, and I think one had pink flowers and the other red. May be a while before this flowers to do further identifying. With heuchs, I either kill them or they live forever, so long that I forget their names. Gave up on collecting more a few years ago as they were all beginning to look the same to me. The rusty goldish pumpkin one that was the first really different one died on me (was also a gift from a friend in zone 5b, nearer the coast who does much better with them) a few years ago. Was pleasantly surprised by this white leaved one surviving. But we did have a great snow cover this last winter and not so cold.

I did a little searching the web last night to find the one similar to Monet. It is snowangel and has red flowers. This is my "survivor". Sorry that it is a little fuzzy, but there are scapes (the 3 pink spots) arising, so I should soon know what color the flowers are. Marie

That Monet is still doing nicely.
And I did buy a Snow Angel but haven't planted it yet. I did take a picture, but had been having some problems with my camera using old disks, so I guess it was on an unreadable one. No flowers on it yet anyway. Marie

I've been dreaming of Monet for some time, but it isn't available here. I asked the German heuchera specialist if he intended to import it and his answer was a short no. So it's some consolation to learn that it doesn't usually grow very well anyway (sour grapes). I suppose that's why it isn't more widely available.

Thanks to Hydrangea for directing me here to your Heuchera forums! I planted two Monet's in 2004, both were no shows this Spring. I'd also planted 'Frosty', it didn't show up either. :( I've talked to several gardening pals who've had no luck with the white/green foliaged heuchs.

Welcome Shadylady. I too have heard that Monet is tricky. I do love it though.
