I have been nursery hopping this week and talk about fun! Up this way heuchera are fairly priced and there's good variety! Can't beat that combination! I got 'Swirling Fantasy' and 'Mini Mouse' at one place, and 'Georgia Peach,' 'Miracle,' and what I think is 'Mahogany' at another place. I hope they all do well for me. I've found that the bright green ones that make such wonderful contrasters have the most winter die-back in my gardens. However, that being said, they are recovering nicely and within a week or two they will look like new again. I so wish Starzgarden (Tammy) was around right now...she'd love to see them.

Hi Dori and Happy Birthday! (See Soc. forum for b'day wishes. ) Warmbier's have them in the half gallon pots for $4.95 and $8.95 for the 'newer' varieties. 'Midnight Rose' was $8.95 but 'Swirling Fantasy' was $4.95. Boehler's have them from $7.99 up to $9.99... same deal...newer varieties are more. You get south of Saginaw County and they are $15 and up. I think Bordine's are $15.. they are always well developed plants and robust looking. Mine were too. Bordine's is about 50 miles away, where Warmbier's is about 23 or 24 miles. I haven't been to Bordine's yet but did get their e-newsletter. I bet VanAtta's (not too far from Lansing) have there's for close to $20 this year. I wouldn't even go there but they often have mini plants (not heucheras) for $1 or $2 ea. I haven't been to any place in Bay City yet. Keit's usually have a nice selection too.

It's rainy but I managed to dodge the rain..
This one from Boehler's.. theirs are priced by pot color. I forgot to list this one above.
From Warmbier's ('Swirling Fantasy')
From Boehler's
(Boehler's) I'm not sure what this one is.. the tag said 'Plum Pudding' but I feel certain the tag is wrong. They had two rows of PP but they were different from each other. I've got a book so I'll try and look it up. They are often so much alike with only subtle differences.
(Warmbier's) 'Midnight Rose' was not new to me as I bought two last year but I have these in different areas...you can never have too many. ;)
I will try and get 'Mini Mouse' when the weather improves. :)

Are the first two for real? What fantastic colours! I wouldn't have called the first peach - it's almost red.

Yes, Mara, the colors are accurate. 'The Georgia Peach' is intense.. It is reddish, but like the reddish part of the peach. :) It has light and dark leaves so it really is striking. The 'Pinot Gris' is what one might consider a new and improved 'Ginger Ale' in that it has more of the reds, plus the leaf reverse is red. I look forward to seeing 'Miracle' develop as it's color change is quite remarkable if it's description is indeed accurate. :)

I picked up several last week, Midnight Rose being one of them. I went to an outlet that sells at very reasonable prices. Yet, the prices are rising no matter what. I sense that this may be a very difficult year for the nursery businesses.... Looking at tables filled with heucheras is an amazing sight!

I know I will not be traveling as far because of the gas prices but it looks like (so far) that the prices have gone up very minimally where I normally go. You are so right about table-filled rows of heucheras.
