I bought it for its red flowers with minimal leaves. As spring and summer came, I now have lots of leaves, no flowers, and these fruits.

Any ideas and can I eat it - without getting sick?

I can't access that link but that pic looks to me to be a Quince or Cydonia. (Chaenomeles sp.)
Those fruits will ripen to yellow and have a strange musky smell. Edible but an aquired taste i think, tho i've never tried one, only smelt them.

Thank you. I absolutely think you are correct on identifying that plant and just found out you can make jelly out of it.

Thank you very much.

I have quince and you'll have to make jelly. They look like apples but never get soft enough to eat but the jelly sure is good!
