This is such a pretty plant. I get asked by everyone that comes over to our home what it is. It normally has many purple flowers that bloom in the morning. The flowers shed quickly but the next day others bloom. It grows fast and will take over my flower bed with new growth if unattended. The images I loaded are of some cuttings from the plant. Thanks for any help you can give.

What are the flowers like? Are they like daisies?

Are those purple flowers kind of deep throated? The foliage looks a bit like Mexican Petunia...which is definitely invasive in some species...check this link http://www.floridata.com/ref/R/ruellia.cfm I've hoed, hacked and mowed over the ones in my yard and still they return...mine are very invasive here in Florida.

You are very welcome...my sister inlaw is the one who ID'd them for me...had them for years before I knew what they were called...The picture with the blooms confirms the Mexican Petunia...looks like the ones I have. Since you are in TX you might check to see if it is invasive in your area...these things start from pieces also. The hummers and butterflies love them, but if you don't keep an eye on these, they will take over and suffocate other plants. They are on Florida's invasive plant list.
