If it is a cotoneaster the PFAF says the berries are edible. I've eaten many things people assured me are deadly poisonous just to look at and I think I'm still living. If not there is obviously blogging and internet in Heaven. Cotoneaster edible? http://www.pfaf.org/database/plants.php?Cotoneaster+microphyllus

Gardenfiend how did you do that?! You're my hero. Well- it does look like a cotoneaster. maybe i need ot look at more cotoneasters, but the berries are purple in the fall i know that. hmm- it may be. I"ll look into it more. thanks for the input!:) I always like to know what I'm growing.
