The Alamo, San Antonio with some of its 3 million annual visitors
Mission Conception, san Antonio
The swamp in Houston Arboreteum and Urban nature reserve which is the most beautiful place in the middle of the city
Box turtle in the swamp
A bird, the only one we saw apart from a woodpecker and grackles

Hi Tony, Bit by bit we are all seeing the world....through your photographs. Oh dear, sorry to hear your wife and son were taken ill.....and the weather wasn't the best. Looks like you had some sunshine during your week though....and the box turtle was soaking it up. Thanks for sharing your piccies.

Thanks for your kind words. Both are now better but it was pretty horrible for them. The weather did improve for our last two days and the difference was amazing. I may have to cut back on holidays if the shares keep falling and the taxes keep going up.Always remember my hols are done on the cheap,no posh hotels!!

Hello Tony_willis, I live Southeast of Houston and the bird that you saw was a Common Mockingbird. It is a shame you couldn't of gone to some of the nature preserves around the area. This part of the USA is a bird sanctuary and a lot of birds migrate through the area to the north. I am glad that you enjoyed your visit other than the family becoming ill.
