We have been passing a few days of holliday in a very nice place to the North of Portugal, in the bank of the Douro river. We have visited a property of vineyards that to the time it was a hotel. We have been going with a friend of ours to see it only, since the price in night was excessively expensive, 1.000 Euros, only to sleep and I have breakfast. We stay in another nearby, not less nice villa, the truth, and to a more reasonable price. If you are interested in pics, I can put my local photos for you. Romaneria Hotel A 400 Ha vineyards, with 19 suites or apartaments, out and inside swimmingpools, massages and skin tratamients, bodega (port and more vines), river walk in ship.... – Ultra boutique and housed in a pair of old wine estate buildings, the hotel sits on the Douro and offers breathtaking views that encompass 360 degrees. It is situated in the heart of Portugal’s Port wine country, which is a UNESCO World Heritage and located in Pedrosa, roughly 15 miles from Pinhao. It might be hard to find your way home after Romaneria (if you have lots of money). http://www.maisonsdesreves.com/romaneira-pt.html Some pics.

In spite of the fact that the price was better enough, I liked more the place where we stay. It was called Nova Villa and also it had big areas of vineyards and a very nice hotel and gardens. Some pics

Sounds as if you had a lovely few days away Mariae. North Portugal looks a lovely place to holiday....and a lovely hotel too, with views of the vineyard. I've never been to Portugal...but your photos look very inviting. Thanks for sharing with us.

Wow, that does look really nice. That combination of smells must have been intoxicating. I keep trying to breathe deeply to see if I can smell it, too. LOL. (I've saved that bathroom pic for when I remodel mine. )

Heirloomgardens, here you have a big one for copying better and another bathroom also. It can fit in your house in Massachusetts. But don't forget the swimming-pool!!!!...
